What’s in a name?

Our Story

Sona Homes is a family owned and operated General Contracting firm based in Stafford, VA. Founded by two cousins, Amit Parbadia and Kirit Parbadia, with a background in commercial contracting, Sona Homes has built over 800 new homes across Northern and Central Virginia since 1989. Amit and Kirit chose to name the company after their grandmother, Sona Parbadia, to be guided in business by the values their family had instilled in them, and to signify that their customers and partners are also a part of their family.

The word “Sona” also translates to “Gold” in the founders’ native Gujarati and further drives our entire team towards our goal of being the “Gold Standard” of the new home construction industry. Sona Homes has been awarded the coveted “Most Outstanding Value” award in the Fredericksburg Area Builders Association (FABA) “Parade of Homes” competition, judged by our peers in the industry.

A number of the features in your Sona home may not be apparent when you move in, but will contribute to its integrity for years after they are hidden behind drywall and carpet.

While you may take on DIY projects from time to time due to changing trends and tastes in finishes or colors, many characteristics of your home are defined during its construction. Painting walls a different color or replacing flooring and light fixtures can be a fun weekend project. Retrofitting a backup foundation drainage system after your finished basement floods, or sealing HVAC ducts after you realize your utility bills are through the roof, can cost thousands of dollars. Luckily, Sona Homes’ Standard Construction Features give our homes a pedigree of excellence so your biggest worry will be how to spend all your savings!

Every step of the way

Quality Assurance

Sona Homes meets and exceeds industry, and client, standards as a result of our stringent Quality Assurance Program. Scheduled client inspections through the course of construction help ensure your home is being built to your specifications, and help you become familiar with its features.

As a part of Sona Homes’ Limited Warranty, you will have 2 scheduled warranty inspections during your first year of ownership. Of course, we are also available to you for any service issues in between scheduled appointments.

At the expiration of Sona Homes’ 1-year Limited Warranty, the fully transferable Extended Structural Warranty provided with your home will continue to cover structural defects for a total of 10 years after purchase. Your extended structural warranty is provided by 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty with every home; the largest new home warranty provider in the country!
